Caroline has been working hard at sitting up on her own. She can sit by herself and play with a toy for a minute or two, before she wobbles and falls face first. We are also encourging her to crawl, but she chooses to roll around the living room instead. She gets into everything that is ankle to shin high!!! I've seriously had to babyproof everything at that level!! Anyway, so tonight she REALLY surprised me!!
I was sitting on the floor next to the coffee table, and she was sitting in my lap. She spotted the remote control on top of the table (she's obsessed with that thing, go figure!). She then proceeded to grab the side of the coffee table, and PULL HERSELF UP TO STANDING!!! I couldn't believe it! I was so impressed! I guess I'm surprised because I assumed she would master sitting and crawling first before standing, but I was wrong!!
Good job Caroline!

Pumpkin Patch
We visited a small, local pumpkin patch over the weekend with our friends Dana and Ryan (16 months). It was fun to see Caroline trying to figure out what these big orange things were!! It was also interesting to see Ryan and Caroline interacting for the first time!! They were both playing with the straw (Caroline was trying to eat it actually) and Ryan offered her a few of his pieces. So cute!!!

Our next adventure!!
This evening started out pretty normal, but ended with a life changing event!!!
Sean arrived home fairly early and was greeted with a big smile from Caroline!! They played for about 10 minutes, then the phone rang. I answered it.
"May I please speak with Stogi (Sean's call sign)? This is Col. X." Sean put his "work" face back on, and I took Caroline into the kitchen to feed her dinner.
A few minutes later, Sean walked in with a huge grin on his face. I'll never remember his exact words, but it was something like this...
"I know our assignment...we're going to KOREA!!!". (Which was weird because Sean heard yesterday that we wouldn't find out until Dec.)
The rest is a bit fuzzy as well. I remember just staring at him, and asking "Are you serious?" about 100 times, but I KNEW he wouldn't joke about this!!!
So....we are moving to Osan Air Base near Seoul, Korea in July 2009 for 2 years.
Was this first on our wish list...not really! But it will be a fun adventure! When I married Sean I always said that I was up for anything...well here it is!!! And I'm so happy that we will be doing it as a family :)

Caught in the rain
During our walk today it started to rain!! So I covered Caroline up with a blanket and sprinted home (as much as you can sprint pushing a stroller!!). The whole time, Caroline had her little foot popping out from under the blanket. It was adorable, and the rain didn't bother her one bit!!

Peek-a-boo!!
Caroline's favorite game is peek-a-boo!! Yesterday I hid behind the coffee table and popped out every so often, of course saying "peek-a-boo!!". She loved it!!!

Jump!!
PMO
Caroline had her first day of "Parent's Morning Out" today at Trinity Day School. I was very nervous because Caroline hasn't done well with other people lately. She really surprised me! She didn't cry when I dropped her off, which made my leaving much easier. Miss Cheryl works in the nursery and she is super sweet. Caroline really likes her.
I ran errands while she was there, and it was so strange!! I felt like something was missing but I was able to get a lot done!! And I was so happy to see her again when I picked her up. She had a great time and I look forward to taking her again next week!

Before dropping her off; she's excited!!

Update
Caroline went to the pediatrician this week. She weighs 14 lbs and is 26 and 1/2 inches long. She's a little too skinny, so we are trying to fatten her up!! She's eating better than we are!! Mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, grits with real butter and cheese, pudding, yogurt, etc. She's loving it!! We will go back in one month for a follow-up.

Golfing
Caroline went golfing for the first time last weekend!!! OK, she didn't really golf, and she only made it through 4 holes before she starting crying, but oh well!! Luckily, we were with our friends Kelly, Tyson and Brian, who live on the course. So after a while, the mommies and kids went back to the house to play and the daddies finished the course. Caroline really liked riding in the cart and watching daddy play!!

Caroline wanted to drive!
