Our Last Trip before the deplopyment and move...

IRELAND

For our last trip before the deployment and big move, we chose to visit Ireland. On May 26th we flew into Dublin. We visited many sites including Trinity College and the Book of Kells (a religious manuscript written in the 6th century). Then we took a double decker bus around the city and stopped in places like St. Patrick's Cathedral, St. Stephan's Green Park and the Guiness factory. In the evening we drove to Blarney to spend the night in an adorable Bed and Breakfast!

The next morning we got up bright and early to visit the Blarney Castle. Sean kissed the Blarney Stone for the "gift of gab", but I chose not too for 2 reasons: 1. I already gab enough and 2. I'm a total germ-a-phobe and that is just gross!!!! Then we visited Blarney Woolen Mills and purchased a genuine Irish wool plaid blanket! We love it!

After touring Blarney we drove on to the An Daingean Peninsula (Gaelic) or Dingle Penninsula (English). We stayed at another cute Bed and Breakfast on the water in Dingle. We drove around the entire penninsula and saw where the movie "Far and Away" was filmed and the cottage that Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise stayed in during filming! We also had the BEST traditional Irish breakfast the next morning; Sean had sausage, beans, eggs and homemade bread, and I had fresh fruit porridge with brown sugar...yum!

On our last day we drove up to the Cliffs of Mohr. It was amazing to see in person. The people we just dots on the tops of the cliffs.

Hi Angela,
I wish we could have seen Ireland with you. It looks beautiful and of course I would like to go to the woolen mills for more YARN!
