Easter weekend

Let me just start with a warning: there are A LOT of pictures on this post!! So unless your name is Gigi, Mimi, Pawpaw, G-dad or any other names that begin with "Great", "Aunt" or "Uncle"... you might get a little overwhelmed (bored) during this LONG post where I basically re-create every moment of our Easter weekend through pictures! If you ARE interested...enjoy!

Ever since RJ was born I have been TERRIBLE about taking pictures while we are out and about. When we are home the camera is nearby and I usually grab it when one of the kids is doing something cute. But before, when we were out...I was pushing a stroller (or wearing the baby bjorn), carrying a diaper bag, and trying to hold Caroline's hand so she didn't run off (or I was chasing her!). So I usually just left the camera at home. I even gave up (temporarily) on my favorite SLR camera because it was entirely too big to even attempt to bring along. But now, Caroline is a little older and indepenedent and RJ can ride in the stroller for longer periods of time without needing to be changed, fed, pacified, etc. So I made it my goal to take LOTS of pictures over the Easter weekend with my favorite camera!! It was a beautiful weekend and we had so much fun as a family!!

On Friday afternoon we had our friends over to dye eggs, decorate cupcakes and eat pizza!!

On Saturday morning we joined the squadron for a kids Easter egg hunt. Caroline LOVED it!!

The weather was beautiful! 49 degrees and sunny. So different than the Texas Easters I remember!!

Caroline jumping up and down!

And they're off!!!

She sat down at the first egg she found!!

Mommy and RJ cheering her on!!

RJ found one too!

The airplane basket

Hard to believe this was the best picture we could get of the two of them; we took around 20

A few that didn't make the cut...

Trying to get away

And a face plant!!!

Daddy and RJ

Another difficult picture to take!! The babies of the 36th Fighter Squadron!!

RJ had fun sitting next to Lydia. First he stole her bunny ears, then he hit her on the head with them!!!

Under the cherry blossoms

Easter morning. The baskets

Caroline's favorite gift...a Tinkerbell toy cell phone!!!

At the Officer's Club for brunch after church

All of our friends' kids with the Korean Easter Bunny

Caroline in the flowers

These were monday morning. I was still on my picture taking high I guess :) Before school

With the phone of course...it was a struggle trying to convince Caroline she couldn't take it to school! In the end we agreed it would "wait for her" in her car seat :)

RJ practiced his golf swing while Caroline was gone for the morning

Or just tried to eat the golf ball!

RJ Update

RJ is the cutest, sweetest, happiest baby EVER!! I feel like this is the reward for the 6+ months of "colic" or whatever you want to call it when a baby just cries all the time!! He is nine and a half months and weighs a whopping 24 pounds!! He is crawling everywhere and is starting to pull himself up to standing. When he is standing by himself he gets so excited he laughs out loud! He also loves to sit back and watch Caroline and the big kids run around and play. He gets so quiet I forget he's even there, he is so entertained by it all. He is still a HUGE eater and I swear he eats more than me sometimes! He has two teeth and looks like a jack-o-lantern when he smiles his sweet smile! He brings so much joy to our lives :)

So happy to be eating his cheerios!! He LOVES them and gets excited when I get the box out of the pantry

I told you he was obsessed! And yes, I give him the sugary ones...he never really liked the plain ones. Maybe he has a sweet tooth like me ;)

So excited to be standing up!

Ready to take Caroline to her first day of school. This was March 14th and look how bundled up he was!!!

Always so happy!

He got away during a diaper change!

Caroline Update

Caroline is turning into such a sweet, active, curious little girl!! She goes to preschool four days a week and LOVES it!! She is a fast learner and is currently learning how to write her name (feeling a little guilty that I gave her such a long one!) and color inside the lines. We think she might be a lefty!! She prefers using her left hand to write and eat, and Sean has some left-handed family members so we're not surprised. I'm interested to see if it sticks! She also knows all of her letters by sight and is working on her numbers. She is starting tee ball this month and we are trying to teach her how to swim (limited resources here in Korea, there are no swim classes being offered right now). We want her to be ready for the BIG MOVE to FLORIDA this summer!!

Caroline is such a loving child. She loves to cuddle and give hugs and kisses. We are so proud of the little girl she is becoming :)

First day of preschool!!! (I can never get her to smile!)

REALLY enjoying her ice cream at the zoo
Playing dress-up; she's wearing 3 tutus

I so did NOT tell her to pose!! Love it!

Our last day of Mommy-and-me tumbling. We were in the class for a year and a half!! It only goes up to 3 years so it was time :(

I think Caroline is telling the teacher what color her "butterfly" is. She usually chooses pink, such a girly girl!

Chasing hoola hoops

The teacher is helping her with her forward roll...which she can totally do on her own. Another sign that it was time to graduate the class. Plus she's HUGE next to the 18 month old babies!!!
