Starting early

The other day I was on the computer with Caroline in my lap. She is really into reaching out and grabbing everything, so she put her hands on the keyboard and looked like she was trying to type. It was cute, so I took a picture. So funny!!

Taking a break

Sorry it's been a while since I've posted anything. Caroline and I have been busy; walking, going to the gym, hanging out with friends, and just playing at home. We tried to go to the pool the other day, but it rained :(

Caroline is sooo active right now!! She gets bored sitting in the car seat when we are out somewhere, unless we are moving. She's actually a great shopping partner!! At home she is entertained for small periods of time, so we are constantly moving from exersaucer, to activity mat, to reading a book or playing with a rattle, to the swing, etc. Caroline loves to go for walks outside in the stroller, but it is so hot right now. We walk early in the morning before it heats up, but I would love to walk her again in the afternoons or early evenings when she's fussy. So we try to find inside activies to entertain her. We are also getting ready for another trip to Texas (San Antonio this time) where Caroline will be baptized!

Caroline has been really having fun with her exersaucer. The other day I noticed that she was really quiet. When I peaked in on her, I found her like this. I guess she was worn out and decided to give her neck a break. She wasn't crying or anything, just resting and looking at the wall!!

4 months old

Caroline is 4 months old! We went to Portrait Innovations last week to have some pictures taken. They did a great job and we received soooo many pictures for a great price! It's a great place to go when you want pictures often.

Eating cereal

Here is a video of Caroline eating cereal for the first time!!! As you can see she is totally into it!!! She doesn't quite understand how it works, but she is giving it her best effort!!!

Caroline has been eating cereal everyday for a week now. She is doing an AWESOME job!! She doesn't spit any of it out anymore, and eats spoonful after spoonful!! She even gets frustrated if I spoon it out too slow!! What a hearty appetite (takes after her mother!!).

Since we started rice cereal, Caroline has been sleeping a lot better!!! She sleeps for 12 hours a night and only gets up once to eat. I am finally getting a normal amount of sleep!! I can't wait to thank her pediatrician for his great advice!!!

Exersaucer

This was a BIG week for Caroline!! First, she used her exersaucer for the first time! She loves it! It has so many cute interchangable toys. The seat is still a little too big, so we had to stuff blankets around her to help her sit up. What a fun toy!!

Baby's first bite!

Recently, I visited the pediatrician to discuss some of Caroline's eating habits (basically she is eating as often as a newborn during the day, and getting up 2-3 times at night to eat). The pediatrician felt like that was too much for a 12 and 1/2 lb baby, so he suggested starting rice cereal. I almost had a heart attack!! I can't believe she's ready for solid foods!!!

She had her first taste on Tuesday afternoon. She did a great job! Most of it came right back out, but she made a great effort. I think the pediatrician was right, she was ready!!

I have been trying to take a picture of Caroline's beautiful smile ever since she started smiling at 5 weeks old. Every time I pick up the camera, she gets camera shy!! She finally let me snap some good shots!!

Happy 4th of July!!

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!!!

I've been looking forward to this holiday for a while now. I bought Caroline's outfit months ago (actually I bought 2 because they were both cute and I couldn't decide!!). Then I asked a friend to make her a matching bow (thanks Kim!!!). She looked sooo cute!!

This is the best of 10 pictures we took. It is VERY hard to make a baby look at the camera!!

Yes, the bow was practically the size of her head, but isn't it ADORABLE?!!!

Happy Birthday Ryan!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY RYAN!!

The Maclin's threw a 4th of July/Birthday party for their son Ryan!! He turned 1 on the 4th; their little firecracker!! His birthday is very special to Sean and I, because it reminds us of taking care of their daughter Kaitlyn last year while Kim was in the hospital!! I also remember taking Katie to the hospital to meet her new baby brother and being at their house when they brought Ryan home for the first time...so many wonderful memories!! You make very special friends when you are in the Air Force!!

Today Caroline and I were able to watch Sean take off in his F-16 and then visit him for lunch!!! It was fun to spend time with him during a work day!!! His job sounds like so much fun, even I am jealous sometimes!!!

Here is a video of Sean's take off. He's kinda far so it's a little hard to see the jet, but it is soooo loud!!! The second jet is Sean's wingman "Shifty" Ludwick. I tried to zoom in but somehow didn't really get it on video. I'm not the best videographer!!!

Caroline has really been practicing sitting up lately!! She loves to sit up and look around and gets grumpy if she is lying on her back. So I borrowed a Bumbo seat from a friend to see if she would like it, and she does!!!
